Cat Chores

Ava & I went to Grandma & Grandpa's
to stay for a week in August while Grandpa
did some maintenance on my car. Ava
loved crossing the bridge Grandpa
built for Grandma's boy & girl fisherpersons.
Grandpa also instructed her in the fine art
of cat chores. See below....

Once she was done feeding the cats,
Ava would follow behind them with both
of her arms turned up, as if to say, "Is there
one for me?" She finally snagged one (above) and
the poor cat actually cooperated, so no child
or animal was harmed in the taking of this picture.
She is so pleased with herself.

Intrigued by how all of it comes out. One of my
favorite pictures.

Sometimes Ava wouldn't dump it all out
at once. Other times, she would set the source
pan off to the side, grab a handful of cat food, squat down,
gently brush two or three cats to the side with her
free hand, and then vigorously throw what was in her
hand into the dish (above). Then she'd go back for more,
as to draw it out so it took longer. She does the same
when feeding Maggie; she'll drop one bit of kibble (from a 1 cup
serving!) in the dish and poor Maggie is salivating all over the floor
by the time we're halfway through.
One of the gang.
