At the Ocean

Here's the Ulloas, at Jaco Beach (Playa Hermosa), with the big waves of the Pacific Ocean behind. There's lots of surfers staying here, hoping to catch some waves. Pura Vida, maes (dudes).

We're headed back to the pool this morning. Ava has been waiting by the door with her swimsuit & sunglasses on. So far, she likes to look at the ocean, but hasn't wanted to get her feet wet yet. When we get back from the beach, though, she keeps saying "oshee, oshee," wanting to go back. :0)

Feliz Cumpleanos, Ava!

Ava is celebrating her 2nd birthday in Costa Rica this year. Auntie Katy made a chocolate cake and decorated it with a monkey. When she took off the cake pan cover and showed it to Ava, Ava pointed and said, "A pig!" Nonetheless, Katy showed artistic skill with her Ziploc baggies & frosting. Thank you, Auntie Katy & Uncle Jorge for hosting us and for making a delicious cake! We're hitting an Elmo pinata tomorrow, to celebrate on Ava's actual birthday, when we're at the beach.

Gaga, Ava, and I left early Saturday morning. Ava and Owen are keeping us well entertained and playing so well together.

Say cheese! Did we mention it's 85 degrees here? And Minnesota is, what, maybe 60 degrees. Jason said it snowed and rained while he and Papa golfed in Detroit Lakes on Saturday. Hmm, not quite the same, is it? :) The kids are running around in diapers. Maybe less by the time we hit the beach tomorrow. Ava's first time in the ocean!!
